Our Story

Since launching in 2008 as Anytime Leisure, we have come a long way in what seems like very little time. We are proud to share with you these highlights from the past nine years, which have shaped us in to the company you know today.

2008 - Company Founded

In 2008, Anytime Leisure was founded by Paul Bodger & Josh Bicknell alongside the opening of Time Fitness’s first site. With a combined industry experience of over 3 decades, the goal was to draw on this expertise and to offer an unrivalled quality of fitness equipment solutions to the Scottish market.

2009 - Exclusive Star Trac Supplier

Anytime Leisure becomes the exclusive Scottish distributor for Star Trac Fitness and Spinning. Following the success of Time Fitness Cupar, the company celebrate the opening of a second facility, this time in Glasgow.

2010 - Partnership with Cybex International

Anytime Leisure is proud to become an official distributor for world leading brand Cybex International. This enhanced product range helped secure contracts worth over £1.5 million in 2010, setting the wheels in motion for continued growth in the UK.

2011 - Cardinal Sports Acquisition

Through the acquisition of sports equipment specialist Cardinal Sports, the company expands its staff team to 16, moves its head office to Edinburgh and launches the servicing and maintenance arm of the business.

Working with Nuffield Health, Anytime Leisure also installs gyms for Google, Sony and RBS.

2012 - Further Expansion

A significant turnover growth of almost 300% over two years allows for further investment in the company and expansion of the staff team. Changes in 2012 saw the expansion of the sales and orders departments, as well as bringing design and marketing in-house.

2013 - New Offices and Warehouse

This year began with Anytime Leisure being awarded a major multi site contract to refurbish facilities for West Dunbartonshire Leisure. Later in the year, the company moves offices and acquires a 24,000 sq ft warehouse, as well as opening Scotland's largest fitness equipment showroom.

2014 - First Origin Fitness Products Launched

The first generation of Origin Fitness products are launched and quickly become part of the equipment portfolio at Anytime Fitness sites, the world’s fastest growing franchise at the time. The company wins its largest contracts to date, with an agreement to modernise 18 facilities over three years for North Lanarkshire Leisure.

2015 - Expansion of UK Operations

New appointments in England and Wales mark an increased focus on making a serious impact on the industry UK wide. Regional sales managers are introduced across the UK while continued development of the range results in Origin products being added to the approved list for Nuffield Health.

2016 - Re-branding to Origin Fitness

In April 2016 Anytime Leisure Limited officially begins trading as Origin Fitness, making this change to focus on international growth and the recently developed Origin product ranges. The new Origin Performance range is launched and annual turnover increases by more than 25% for the third consecutive year.
